The Calvary Presbyterian Church – Sacramento, was started on February 25, 2018, after Dr. Samuel Sasu and Dr. Opoku Adusei had contacted Bro. Stephen Osifo-Doe to start the mission work under the instruction of the then Minister in Charge of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Southern California, Rev. Barima Appiah-Dankwa. Mrs. Jean Appiah and Mrs. Mabel Akoto joined Mr. Osifo-Doe and his family to establish the mission work. They were then joined by Mr. Andrews Duodu, Mrs. Henrietta Addo and family, Mr. Richard Nti-Gyabaah and family to form the core members of the church. The first church service was held on February 25, 2018 and subsequent services have been held since then. The medium of communication was chosen to be the English language so as to accommodate other nationalities who were non-Ghanaians.
