The Calvary Presbyterian Church – Sacramento, was started on February 25, 2018, after Dr. Samuel Sasu and Dr. Opoku Adusei had contacted Bro. Stephen Osifo-Doe to start the mission work under the instruction of the then Minister in Charge of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Southern California, the Rev. Barima Appiah-Dankwa. Mrs. Jean Appiah and Mrs. Mabel Akoto joined Mr. Osifo-Doe and his family, to establish the mission work. The first church service was held on February 25, 2018 and subsequent services have been held since then. The medium of communication was chosen to be the English language so as to accommodate other nationalities who were non-Ghanaians.
